HARTFORD PET EXPO
October 2006

The Rarities show was a big disappointment (as expected) but the Shiloh Booth was a HUGE success!! Sheila and her SSONE members outdid themselves once again!! I would like to thank all of the people that set aside the time to bring their dogs and impress the huge crowds that were a constant feature at our booth!!

The only complaint I can think of is .. time! We just did not have enough time to answer everyone's questions! So many people kept flooding in, non-stop!! Even the pups were getting all kinds of attention, and when the people were told that they were "just puppies" it was hard for them to believe it!! The only dogs that outdid us in size were the Danes!!! Even the miniature horse (that walked around among the booths with his little GSD buddy) was impressed with our dogs!!

Our guys also got to meet all kinds of "other" friends, even a "dressed up" cat!! Everyone got along just great, and the children were drawn to our booth over and over again! I think one little girl must have visited us every few hours, until her Mom promised to "think" about getting her a REAL Shiloh ;-)

It was actually hard to get pics because so many people kept walking by!! At one point I took a walk too, just to see what was going on around the other booths, and found many of them with just a few people in them, while some were just empty!! I even talked to one lady that was selling products and she asked me if she could borrow one of our dogs to pull in some business!!! <vbg> Not a bad idea, maybe next year we should "rent out" some of our dogs to the other venders???

Of course ... MAX stole the show!! When I first saw him walk in (through the sliver "show entry" door) I was in shock ... oh NO ... there is NO WAY they could have produced a dog like THAT!!

Everybody noticed him!!

This guy behind me says something like ... holy s^&*! look at the SIZE of THAT Shepherd!!

As the man heads straight for the sliver camp .... then another person behind me says ..... that CAN'T be a Shiloh ... he's TOO BIG .. maybe it's a King??

More guessing is going on and some of the comments are NOT very nice about "shilohs" ... one person even said that they look more like HUSKY'S ... this one looks like a GIANT Rin Tin Tin ... must be an AKC dog from the demo's ... just went in the wrong door.

Well, I left, and as I sat at the booth ... here comes the monster dog .. saw me and almost jumped over my book table to say HI!! Even though I had never met him!!! Cathy said that he must have *known* that I was MaShiloh!! I was THRILLED!! What an awesome boy he was too!! Nobody could walk past this dog without stopping to comment on him, and Sadie (our other adult) and then they would play with the pups!! All of the dogs that came to this event impressed the crowds!!!

It was a great weekend, but all good things must end, even the dogs were getting worn out from all of the excitement . .. and it was time to say our goodbyes ... till next year!!
