Why are There Two Shiloh Shepherd™ Registries and Two
Breed Clubs?
How it All Began
After a year of propaganda and negotiations back and forth between
the SSDCA and the organizers of the ISSDC, a tentative agreement was
reached that, in a nutshell all people politics would be handled by the
ISSDC, as well as Newsletters, etc. (Please note the club
responsibilities outlined in the first letter). This in turn would
"free up" Tina's time to focus more attention on the ISSR, and
especially the LMX program. She would then communicate ISSR business to
the membership via the ISSDC newsletter. Her first article was
rejected, forcing her to write a letter to the membership again
reiterating the differences between a club and a registry. This in
turn caused the ISSDC president to send out
his rebuttal and these were followed by long, mostly personal attacks
between both parties. We feel that there is no need to publish these
letters since they have nothing to do with the dogs or the breed! The
following letters should suffice to provide you with a clear picture of
the activity that led to the formation of the ISSDCR and the return of
the SSDCA.
All ISSDC correspondence is in the form of PDF
files to insure their accuracy. They may be accessed with
Adobe
Acrobat Reader. The files are large, but we wanted to reprint
them in their entirety. Please right click on the file to download and
save them on your computer!

Three meetings were

their questions and concerns about the new club to their temporary
officers. At the Grand Island meeting, it was asked if the new
club was considering starting a new registry. The answer was
no.

Olive Branch Letter sent to ISSDC members
(November '99)
Once to every man and nation
Comes the moment to decide,
In the strife of the truth with falsehood,
For the good or evil side;
Some great cause, God's new Messiah,
Off'ring each the bloom or blight,
And the choice goes by forever
'Twixt that darkness and that light.
Then to side with truth is noble,
When we share her wretched crust,
Ere her cause bring fame and profit
And 'tis prosperous to be just;
Then it is the brave man chooses,
While the coward stands aside,
Till the multitude make virtue
Of the faith they had denied.
By the light of burning martyrs,
Christ, thy bleeding feet we track,
Toiling up new Calv'ries ever
With the cross that turns not back;
New occasions teach new duties,
Time makes ancient good uncouth;
They must upward still, and onward,
Who would keep abreast of truth.
Though the cause of evil prosper,
Yet tis truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold
And upon the throne be wrong;
Yet that scaffold sways the future,
And, behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow,
Keeping watch above his own.
